The StG. 44 was firstly used in 1944 and 425 977 of them were produced in
various modifications till the end of the war. According to OKH's plans
(OKH - Oberkommando des Heeres - High Command of the Defense Forces of the
Third Reich), this weapon was expected to replace the Mauser Kar 98k
repeating rifle and MP38/40 automatic gun
